You can make these feeders in any shape or size, so they are customizable & unique.

I have been looking for a bird feeder recipe without using gelatin or lard - you’d be surprised how many recipes ask for this… Who has this on hand & readily available in their pantry anyway!? But, By George I think we have a winner here! These feeders are such a cute addition to your garden, plus they are so incredibly easy to make & a great activity for kids too. Keep em busy while they are home. It’s also great to have them get involved & be able to watch the wildlife in their own backyard.

MATERIALS: 4 cups mixed bird seed 3/4 cup all purpose flour 1/2 cup water 3 Tbsp corn syrup cooking spray cookie cutters twine

DIRECTIONS Combine birdseed, flour, water, and corn syrup in a mixing bowl. Spray cookies cutters and a baking sheet with cooking spray. Using a spoon, pack the bird seed mixture into the cookie cutters. I used a smaller cookie cutter for the hole, but you could use a straw to poke a hole for the twine. Let dry overnight. If the mixture is still wet, bake in the oven on the lowest setting for an hour or so. I had my oven on for something else & when I turned it off, I popped in the bird feeders as the oven was cooling down. This worked perfectly & completely dried them quickly Hang outside for the birds to enjoy!
